Fish Bar Deli: A Culinary Gem in Kapaʻa, Kauai

Aloha! This charming establishment offers an inviting atmosphere with comfortable seating and delectable cuisine. We selected Mai Tais and Margaritas, along with Ahi Poke and Ahi Au Poivre. The Ahi Poke was exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared. The ahi meat in the Ahi Au Poivre was slightly overcooked, but its taste remained pleasant. The accompanying Vegan Kale salad was truly remarkable. The Mai Tai possessed a robust flavor with a pronounced leafy note, while the Margarita exhibited a milder character. It is worth noting that the staff was exceptionally friendly, and our server was very helpful in assisting us with ordering. During dinner hours, there may be a slight wait time, we waited 25mins to get a table). I highly recommend dining at this establishment during your visit to Kauai.

We didn’t realize how early things closed in Kauai so we were really grateful to even get into FBD. Once there, the food was quite nice and the scene fun (the market is quite cute), but it was cold with the fan on full blast and we couldn’t convince them to turn it down

What a gem! Stopped for lunch the other day and it was excellent. Small place but huge flavors. Tuna melt - 5 stars. The French fries - potentially the best French fries I’ve ever had. Corn broccolini salad - deliciously fresh, a tad too much smoke flavor for me personally but didn’t stop me from eating it. Bikini wax cocktail - yum, so fresh, and perfect combo. My mom kept saying the rest of the afternoon “I really enjoyed that lunch!”

Best food we've had on the island these past 2 weeks! Very European atmosphere and food, amazing fresh fish and great cocktails. The Hawaiian bruschetta was amazing. On top of that the staff is super friendly and fast, creating the perfect atmosphere. Must stop when on Kauai

The menu is fun and creative, with a rotating lineup of specials that always keeps things exciting. I loved how they highlight fresh, local ingredients to reinvent Hawaiian gastro-style cuisine in a modern, flavorful way. And don’t miss their bar—it’s extensive, vibrant, and perfect for pairing with your meal.

Best Seafood in Kauai We only waited 10 minutes for a seat. We were seated facing the street at the bar for a fun dining experience. Our server Mallory was awesome and she made some great suggestions. We enjoyed the Fresh Island Fish Sandwich which was Marlin(), we also ordered Ceviche and Chips, as well as the Smoked Ahi and Tortilla Soup. Everything was really tasty and we both agreed that it was the best food we tried in Kauai!

I absolutely LOVE Fish Bar Deli! From the stellar service, to the fun, welcoming atmosphere, to the delicious vegan options, it's a true gem in the heart of Kapaa town. It's one of my favorite restaurants on Kauai and is always on the top of my list when meeting up with friends or entertaining visitors.
